Greetings from New York City! I am out of DC, summer is over, I'm back at school, and oh wait... a whole month has passed? Well you see, I brought my camera to school with me, but when I unpacked, settled in, and opened the camera to put the memory card in my computer, I realized that I'd forgotten my memory card somewhere at home! My mom couldn't find it in any obvious places via my telephone directions, so it took until this past weekend when I went home to dig through my desk drawers and find that pesky little card. Anyway, I found it, and I've got pictures to prove it.

As you can see, I had a bunch more posts lined up. These are all dishes that I made in DC this summer, but I made them so long ago that I didn't feel it would be right to post them and write about them individually. So here they are, all in one post.

I will write about one dish individually. It was quite nostalgic in the best possible way to see the pictures of the blueberry and peach pancakes. I think they are one of the prettiest dishes I've ever made, and go along with one of the best memories. One weekend two of my best friends from home came down to DC to visit me, and in the morning we made these pancakes. Not only did I eat them with my friends, but my lovely DC roommates who I'd come to be pretty close with also joined in in making them and eating them with us. The peaches were from my friend's office - she was interning in a South Carolina senator's office where there are apparently endless peaches, and so she'd brought some home for us. The pictures remind me so much of the best of summer!

I also just want to acknowledge that during my time away, last Wednesday to be exact, this blog celebrated it's 1st birthday!! Such a big girl.

Anyway, I am living in a lovely little apartment this year with a gorgeous, brand new kitchen. Literally a dream come true in new york. Not sure if my next post will be pictures/a tour of the kitchen, or if it will be real food. Maybe both? You'll just have to check back to find out! ;]
